Addis Ababa, July 19, 2016 – Heineken Breweries SC supports the drought victims with a donation of 5 million ETB.
The recent drought that has affected millions of Ethiopians is extremely unfortunate and a crisis that we hope will end soon. Today in the presence of Dr. Mulatu Teshome, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Patron of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, we donate 5 million ETB for the drought relief.
Heineken in Ethiopia considers itself a ‘Partner for Growth’ and this means we take our Corporate Social Responsibility seriously. It also means we invest and believe in partnerships that bring sustainable change and improvements for communities. This is demonstrated in several health related projects in Harar, Bedele and Kilinto where we have our operations.
We make this donation in collaboration with the Heineken African Foundation that is established to support the improvement of health for people living in sub-Saharan African communities.
Through the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, we make this donation and hope it can bring some relief to the victims of this terrible drought.
We stand together with Ethiopia through the good times and bad times!
